Nominations for the 2022 Game Awards have already been released. God of War Ragnarök leads the pack with an impressive 10 nominations, including the prestigious Game of the Year trophy. Following in second place is FromSoftware’s magnum opus Elden Ring, which is tied with PlayStation’s RPG Horizon Forbidden West for seven nods – sharing space with Ragnarök for GOTY awards, Best Game Direction and Best Art Direction. The annual Geoff Keighley-directed show also introduced a new Best Adaptation category, which celebrates video game-inspired projects across all forms of media – movies, TV series, books and more.
108 different games are spread across the 2022 edition of The Game Awards roster, adding numerous new reveals, live musical performances and the on-stage orchestra and celebrity presenters. Winners will be announced on 8th December (9th December in India, 6am to 9am IST), live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles – they will be available to stream for free on Youtube, Twitch, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok Live and, for the first time, Instagram Live. Fans can vote until December 7th via the official TGA website or the TGA Discord server via the official Voting Bot.
