Today at 12pm, both variants of Sony’s elusive next-gen console – the Rs. 49,990 PS5 equipped with Blu-ray and its Rs. 39,990 disc-less counterpart PS5 Digital Edition – will be available for pre-order in India. No packages, just like in September. Although, as has been the case for over a year now, the big concern is whether you can actually to manage to buy one given Sony India’s ongoing stock struggles. Microsoft’s Xbox Series X is doing much better right now in that regard, though that also says a lot about the respective demand.
The PlayStation 5 restock on October 12th is just the 20th time that Sony’s flagship console has been made available for pre-order in India since its launch 21 months ago this past February. Its Blu-ray-free sibling, the PS5 Digital Edition, fared even worse, making this only the 14th time that interested buyers have had the opportunity to pre-order one. And while there are no restrictions on deliveries for a while, the Sony Center’s ShopAtSC website continues with its COVID-19 cliché: “We intend to deliver your allocated stocks around the 21st [October 2022] and onwards – however, please expect a delay in our delivery services which may be affected due to regulations imposed by the lockdown/curfew in your locations.” Expect the rest of the PS5’s official online retailers – Amazon, Croma, e2z Store, Flipkart, GameLoot, Games The Shop, Reliance Digital and Vijay Sales – to be in line with the Sony Center’s estimates. Although, we have sometimes seen some online retailers ship their PS5 pre-orders before the advertised delivery date.

Sony India Sony Center retail stores have their own website through which you can buy the PlayStation 5. ShopAtSC offers free home delivery to your nearest Sony Center, but you can also choose to pick up from your nearest store from 21st October.
You will need an account to purchase the PS5 from ShopAtSC. Create one in advance to speed up checkout. If you’ve previously purchased a PS5 or PS5 Digital Edition, you won’t be able to buy another one from the same account, says ShopAtSC. The website has a notification button in case you want to set it up.
