The PS5 May restock is here. Today at 12pm, both variants of Sony’s elusive next-gen console – the Rs. 49,990 PS5 equipped with Blu-ray and its Rs. 39,990 disc-less counterpart PS5 Digital Edition – will be available for pre-order in India. At the same time, just like in April, some retailers will also offer Rs. 54,490 PS5 and Gran Turismo 7 Blu-ray bundle which represents a Rs. 499 saving if you bought them separately. Gran Turismo 7 was released in March – to strong backlash from fans due to microtransactions and the grind-based economy – and with Sony India still bundling it, it looks like Sony has more copies of Gran Turismo 7 that haven’t sold. Even after last month’s PS5 restock.
If you’re looking to buy the PlayStation 5 online, you can do so from Amazon, Chroma, Flipkart, Game Loot, Games The Shop, Reliance Digital, Sony Center, and Vijay Sales. You can also check out the game stores near you. Those tend to be a better shot at times. Although, as has been the case for over a year now – the PS5 celebrated its first anniversary in India in early 2022 – the big concern is whether you can actually to manage to buy one given Sony India’s ongoing stock struggles.
The PlayStation 5 restock on May 13th is just the 16th time that Sony’s flagship console has been made available for pre-order in India since its launch last February. Its Blu-ray-free sibling, the PS5 Digital Edition, fared even worse, making this only the tenth time interested buyers have had the opportunity to pre-order one. Of course, this is far from the only issue with buying a PlayStation 5 in India. Each time, companies like Croma and Games The Shop have proven unable to handle the load. Even Amazon has had issues a few times. Furthermore, Croma, Flipkart, and Reliance Digital have also been known to cancel PS5 pre-orders due to their own technical challenges.
Interestingly, the Sony Center’s ShopAtSC website didn’t give us an expected ship date for the PS5 restock of May 13th. At the time of this writing, their FAQ page — which continued to carry a COVID-19 cliché long after delivery restrictions were removed — has not been updated this time around. Going by previous estimates, the shipping date for the new PS5 pre-orders should be a week to 10 days from May 13th. Whatever it is, all official PS5 online retailers – including Amazon, Croma, Flipkart, GameLoot, Games The Shop, Reliance Digital and Vijay Sales – should be aligned with the Sony Center. Although, we have sometimes seen some online retailers ship their PS5 pre-orders before the advertised delivery date.

Sony India Sony Center retail stores have their own website through which you can buy the PlayStation 5. ShopAtSC offers free home delivery to your nearest Sony Center, but you can also choose to pick up from your nearest store once the first orders are shipped.
You will need an account to purchase the PS5 from ShopAtSC. Create one in advance to speed up checkout. If you’ve previously purchased a PS5 or PS5 Digital Edition, you won’t be able to buy another one from the same account, says ShopAtSC. The website has a notification button in case you want to set it up.

Mumbai-based Vijay Sales also offers the PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition on its website – its stores have also opened across India. It will also offer free home delivery on all purchases.
You don’t need an account to buy the PS5 from Vijay Sales, but you will need to provide your mobile number and email address as a guest.
Vijay Sales offers 7.5% instant discount up to Rs. 7,500 or Rs. 3,000 on EMI transactions with HSBC and Standard Chartered credit cards respectively and 10% instant discount of up to Rs. 2,000 on OneCard credit cards.
