Xbox Game Pass is getting at least 11 new games – including four day one releases – in October 2022, Microsoft announced Tuesday. (As is often the case, we already knew about some of them.) Among the new releases is the stealth action-adventure sequel A Plague Tale: Requiem, which launches October 18th globally on PC and Xbox Series S/X, but will be available from the evening of October 17th in India. And a few days earlier, on October 14th, Game Pass subscribers will get the atmospheric first-person horror adventure Scorn, coming to PC and Xbox Series S/X.
We also have a multiplayer social deduction game in Eville coming October 14th for PC and console. That leaves space simulation strategy Dyson Sphere Program, which arrives Oct. 13 to PC Game Pass after coming out of 19 months of early access on Steam.
Outside of day one releases, the biggest Game Pass launch of October 2022 is first-person multiplayer slasher Chivalry 2 – coming to PC and consoles – coming to Microsoft’s subscription service nearly 16 months after launch. The difference is similar for side-scrolling action game The Legend of Tianding, coming to Game Pass for PC and consoles at the end of the month on October 31st. (The Legend of Tianding isn’t part of Microsoft’s announcements, but Gadgets 360 discovered its existence thanks to the Game Pass app.)
Stepping back in time, we have the survival, city building and management adventure game Medieval Dynasty – first released in September 2020 – coming to Xbox Game Pass for Series S/X on Thursday, October 6th. Medieval Dynasty is now available on PC Game Pass. And we already knew about the arrival of the Persona 5 Royal Game Pass. Launched worldwide in March 2020, it hits PC, Xbox One and Series S/X on October 20 in India and October 21 globally. (Microsoft doesn’t mention this in its announcement, so expect this to be highlighted in late October.)
The remaining three games are even older. The first and second seasons of Telltale’s The Walking Dead series – first released between 2012 and 2014 – will arrive on PC Game Pass on Thursday, October 6th.
Of course, this is not the complete list. As we know, this is more or less for the first half of the month, except for some titles. Expect more Game Pass reveals – which will no doubt mention Persona 5 Royal and The Legend of Tianding – closer to mid-October.
And as usual, a bunch of games – six this month, to be precise – are also leaving Game Pass. You can discover the complete list at the end.
Microsoft is also noting that The Elder Scrolls Online’s Heroes of High Isle in-game event ends on October 11, while Microsoft Flight Simulator’s World Update XI: Canada is now available wherever you can play the game.
Finally, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate perks for October 2022 include a Deluxe Edition upgrade to Need for Speed Heat, a From Above Weapon charm in Apex Legends, and a cosmetic pack for the aforementioned Eville. All of these perks will be unlocked starting October 11th. You can claim them from the Xbox dashboard.
